California Consumers Privacy Act

Going into effect January 1st, 2020, a new privacy law the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) will apply to businesses that collect personal information from California residents.



CCPA New Consumer Rights

  • The right to know what information is collected, used, shared or sold.
  • The right to delete personal information held and by extension, a business’ service provider.
  • The right to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
  • The right to non-discrimination if they choose to exercise their privacy rights.


CCPA Affected Businesses

  • Businesses with gross annual sales in excess of $25 million;
  • Businesses that collect personal information of 50,000+ consumers;
  • Businesses that derive more than 50% of their annual revenue from the sale of consumer information.
